I am using the wordpress plugin twitter tools by Alex King, and was wondering if there is a way to change the name of the ‘device’ or ‘agent’? (if thats the right word) from where the tweet originated. I tried to change some things in the PHP but couldn’t get it to work.
I am trying to change it from this:

How can Twitter, MySpace, FaceBook, WordPress, Blogging, Feeds,etc. help a business when all I hear is how it helps you stay in touch with friends and family? How can I promote my product on the web, through "social" networking? I’m not the type to have more than a few close friends and a few acquaintances. Thank You.

It’s not necessarily keeping in touch with friends and family, it’s networking, connecting with people. Business is people, without people you make no revenue, and to get people to come to your business or view your businesses website, you need to advertise. Tools such as the ones you noted, are great advertising techniques, which are also FREE. Note FREE (in relation the social networking). Another thing is, you can create as many profiles on social networking sites. Blogging attracts people as well, it’s all generating traffic, when you can build up and generate the traffic, that itself will bring in revenue. Using social networking, you can add people you don’t know, people that don’t know you can add you, just make sure your business page is created nicely, professionally, and is something that people want. If you have that already under control, you will be fine.

Basically, I’m asking, how to use Twitter successfully?

I’ve been following the Dos’ and avoiding the Donts’, that is:
- I use for my enjoyment, sharing a piece of information that I heard either on mainstream media or alternative/independent news …
- I don’t have a brand or anything to promote yet… I’m still working on a personal website and blog that I will launch in the near future…so i’m using Twitter to build a community of followings + followers, then when my website is ready for publishing i’ll have additional traffic to my website and blog.
people might say there is no such thing as a Twitter strategy … I think there are!? What do you think?
On my Twitter, I have 1 follower, and I am following 5.
The ‘follower’ has 8,291 (following) and (10,818) followers
The 5 people that I am following have the characteristics:
#1: 24 (following) and 15 (followers)
#2: 27,208 (following) and 806,623 (followers)
#3: 10 (following) and 105,093 (followers)
#4: 512 (following) and 1,206,551 (followers)
#5: 155 (following) and 1,196,016 (followers)
Person #1 has the lowest numbers of ‘following’ and ‘followers’… I’ve sent her a tweet 3 days ago but got no response … figure that I should read her tweets and come up with an interesting tweet to send her.
The others have such large numbers of ”following’ and ‘followers’… perhaps I should just give up on them and find other people in order to tweet back and forth … and build a community

I am working for a small business which provides services; such as, lawn, house, handyman and car services. What are your opinion’s on Twitter advertising? and what are some techniques or strategies to help the business? All opinions are welcome!
With social media, it is important to understand that it opens a two way street for communication. That sounds simple, but I see so many marketers using social media to advertise (i.e. tell customers something), and not really talk with them.
Whether it is Twitter or Facebook, you’ll gain more attention posting information/content that educates the reader and leaves them with something. For example, when I lived in the Midwest, I had to make sure this time of year that I had windshield washer fluid in my car that would not freeze. Otherwise, what a mess. So, you could send a message out to your followers reminding them to do that, or maybe that it is time to fertilize the lawn, etc. This would make you more helpful to the customer than a competitor and may swing business your way.
Make sure though, if you start this type of marketing that someone monitors it and answers questions. Followers/Friends may become disconnected if they ask a questions and it stays unanswered for a long time.

im 15 and my mom and i frequently make homemade jewlery for ourselves or as gifts to friends and family. we do not hand-make the beads but we go to a shop which sells really unique beads that are reasonably priced. one day i had this idea to start selling jewlery because i’m at the age where i’m looking for a job but i have a love of fashion and accessories and i really want to sell my jewlery so that i can do it on my time and not let it interfere with school. also, i’m a big giver and when i have some money from birthday, holidays, and good report cards, while i love buying clothes, shoes, and everything else, i always set aside a bit of money to give to one of a few charities i love. so i’d love to put maybe 25% or so of profits towards charity. my mom will help out with all this and i was wondering what is the best way to do this ONLINE. a few of my moms friends recomend esty and we’ve looked into that and it seems really good but there’s always ebay and stuff like that. i can also hopefully try to advertise on my facebook, myspace, and twitter of course too
Try ebay or craigslist once ppl start buy and u start making money try ur own website and my aunt make her living off craft sale that r typically at schools/churches and she sells her stuff there has to be good money the way she spends and also she gets phone orders she has cards that she puts in with each purchase. I have heard that Twitter is a great way to increase traffic to your website to make more money. Are there any good Twitter tools that can help me do this so that I can make the most out if Twitter and not waste time on it?
There are some auto post twitter tools that can help you plan out your tweets so that you can draw attention to your website. There are also Twitter tools that help you find people to follow that may have interest in your website.
Truthfully though, the best way to use Twitter is to use it as you would networking in person. If you think about it, most of the people who are on Twitter are trying to make a living online just like you, and unless you are offering products about making a living online or working from home and things of that nature, you probably will not see that much money come from your Twitter work.
But, Twitter is a good networking tool to make connections and possible partnerships with others in your niche and to learn new things, so look at Twitter that way instead of simply the income value. A friend needs my help. There’s an inactive Twitter account using his unique business name. What’s the right first step? There is no other business with this name. We’d like Twitter to close their account.

My question is does your friend’s business name copyrighted/trademarked/etc.? If it is then you can contact Twitter about giving you the account because you have copyrighted the name; which is violating the Terms of Service. Contact Twitter about this here:

I’ve started a blog and I’m trying to expand my network to get relevant traffic to the site. I’ve linked my twitter, facebook, and I’ve joined several blog directories and added my site to the major search engines.
Are there any other must-use sites to get the word out?
My blog is about writing and poetry, are there also any good writing and poetry related sites?

Apart from Twitter and facebook you can create a lense at Squido and hub pages and like site. You can also register at social bookmarking websites like digg, diggo, mixx, redit and all.
And the most important thing is to search for like wise blog which has same topic as your and commenting on the blog.
This is all most bloggers do for the rest of their life. They build up links. The more you make backlinks the more your site is going to be popular and the it shows up on top of the seach engine for your keyword of the website.

OMFG. This is about my new boyfriend, Chris. So….this is what I’m freaking out about:
Okay, this might take a while…Whew. Okay. So we’re in the new semester at my school and I have third block Biology with him. First day, I was sort of interested in him. The day when my interest started growing exponentially was some day in January when he molested my foot with his under the table. Lol. I thought it was my friend Denise, but it wasn’t. Sweetness. Anyway, so then we got to pick out groups for the semester and he chose me! YEAS! Next day, we got assigned seats and he now sits in the seat…okay, his sister sits directly across from me and from my pov, he sits to her left. Anyway, so I chilled with him in group and laughed at his jokes and pervertedness and got all twitter-paited. So…he’s a flirt and he was always flirting with me and I was secretly pleased. Susan and I joked all the time about how I was in love with ‘El Camino’. Lol. He has an el camino and it’s black with green flames and a glitter finish. It’s so dorky…I love it. Anyway, back to business. Let’s see…on Tuesday March Third, his very, very, very good friend Heather came up to me in second block and was like, "Chris likes you." So, I freak and try to contain myself. I oh so casually said, "W-what?!" And she was like, "Yeah. I was talking to him in the hallway and he said he thinks he likes you." So…I was a mess in second block. I made myself sick with nervousness. In third block, Chris was flirting with me more than usual…OH! I forgot something! Monday, we had to do presentations over the biomes. Of course, my group went first. So after it, Heather sat beside me as usual and Chris set across from me, cause our Evil Devil Teacher had pulled up a chair in the spot he usually sits in. So, EDT had to do something with the computer and left the area of our group. So, I’m talking to Heather and I feel something touch my foot. Automatically, I tense and think Chris. EDT fixes the computer and another group presents. During that time, Chris molests my Vans with his. I’m trying not to laugh out of nervousness and because it tickles, and he knows it. So he’s like, "Don’t laugh,Taylor. Don’t smile." So, of course I do and he looks pleased. Throughout the whole class, he molests my foot with his. And when I’m talking to Heather, he does it and he’s looking at me and she’s like, "You are so creepy, Chris." Of course she doesn’t know what he’s doing. It was so funny and so nervewracking for me…Anyway, back to the present. So, during lunch Heather comes in the library with her friends and I’m sitting in a chair and minding my own business when Amelia Smith comes over. I barely tolerate her. She says, "You like Chris." I didn’t say anything, I just looked away and rubbed my nose. When I eventually looked back at her, she asked, "Are you a virgin?" I answer yes and she freaking leaves to Heather. Crazyness. So, yesterday, Wednseday, I’m talking to Susan before 2cnd block and she tells me that Chris told her that he didn’t like me. (She and Chris are pretty damn good friends) So, during 2cnd block I am a huge wreck. I was so sad and pissed off. I almost started crying and I had to go to the bathroom ’cause I couldn’t take it. I made it through 2cnd block and I was just pissed by the end of it. In the beginning of third block, I was so depressed and pissed and I wouldn’t talk to anyone. During lunch, I talked to my friend Benecia about why I was so angry ’cause Susan doesn’t have lunch block with me. Anyway, I’m like, "I just want to know if he’s jerking me around. Playing me. I like him, but I don’t want him to do this to me. I could honestly kill him right now." As we leave the library, overwhelming depression hits me and I almost start to cry and she’s like, "He’s not worth it." So, we get back to third block and there’s only ten minutes left. I really am close to crying at this point and it worried Chris, so he asked Benecia what was up with me. That dumb hoe told him everything. I could kill her. Honestly. Anyway…whew, deep breath. So, we stack our chairs up and we’re standing by the door and Benecia’s like, "He’s going to ask you out." My eyes widen and I hiss, "WHAT?" ‘Cept it was really quiet. She says, "Yeah. He said he was afraid of rejection." So I blush majorly and he comes over and leans down to my ear and whispers, "Will you go out with me?" Oh my God, I’m going to have a fit of joy right now. One sec…Okay…Okay. So I say yes and we walk to our classes. I very luckily catch my bff Susan in the hallway before I get to my class and I tell her and we have a girly freak out. Then, Chris and I meet up at break and it’s kind of awkward but we go to the library and I immediatly go to Susan. It helped soothe the awkwardnesss a bit. We walk back to class and we’re both late. Lol. But I was beginning to have some doubts about our relationship…I was getting paranoid. So, on the bus ride home I make myself positively sick with worry an

I’m sure it will all work out completely fine. It’s early days and you don’t really know each other. You’ll be comfortable around each other soon enough and then there won’t be awkwardness, leaving room for the good stuff!
The girl who really hurt you by saying that he didn’t like you was obviously just sh-t stirring to try and ruin it for you. Forget about her. She’s obviously a completely retarded and horrible person to do that, so you don’t need her in your life. It’s her problem, not yours.
Other than that, I don’t really know what to say! It’s obvious he really likes you, and seeing as you seem to like him loads back I’m sure it will be amazing. The next few weeks will be an exciting time cos you’ll be getting to know him much better and still be in the early days of your relationship.
Just don’t freak out at this point. There’s no need to worry yourself, so calm yourself down by listening to music or deep breathing if you feel yourself losing control. You haven’t got anything to worry about, trust me, and I’m sure he wouldn’t want you to be freaking out so much. It will all work out good!
